Two of our team members are not present today and in fact got interviews at Bournemouth University but the remaining people in the group will continue the production of the animation.

There is one more fight scene to complete.

Export the animations correctly so youtube atleast recognises them as proper videos.

Post production such as the useage of green screen.

Tuesday, 1 March 2011

The proper animation in which is unedited and straight from the camera.

We used Istop Motion on the Mac and this animation will enter Adobe After Effects.

Unedited Animations

These are 2 new animations which were filmed today.

As these are unedited there is more to come such as the useage of Adobe After Effects.

Animations

There are a few unedited animations completed in which we have made today.

These include an animation where pink and blue walk off onto the horizon and pink moves onto screen.

28th February

Work has begun and production continued.

The plan for today is to create an animation as the Pink cernit, so the female character is involved in the actual animation.

As well as Blue and Pink in a single animation to give the idea that they are walking off together.

Sunday, 27 February 2011

27th February

Production will continue tomorrow.

As it is monday there will be a good few hours of productivity.

22nd February

The project, planning and all what we intend to do once the half term is over must not be forgotten.

Additionally, we have our own things to complete for various different places and people so this half term is an excellent opportunity to do so.

Animations and Half Term

Work has been done on around 10 seconds worth of animation.

We are breaking up for the half term so there are some rescources which we all intend to gather.

Such as sound and edit of the actual animation.

Thursday 17th February

After a short delay in productin because of an alternative lesson we are back to full production as soon as all members are satisfied with their own individual tasks.

Additionally, it is a lot more noticeable now that other groups have started their final animations, which is good because the deadline is not far off.

Final Animation 6

We have the latest unedited animation in which we made today as a group.

There is a Green Screen in the background but there is no change in the actual background image.

Unedited version, thus far.

But please not for some reason Youtube has the video slightly different from how we actually filmed the animation.

Wolf Whistle

We are headed to creating a scene which both Blue and Red perform a wolf whistle at Pink.

After the whistle itself Red will then look twards Blue in disgust and in an angered persona.

He will be jealous.

Tuesday 15th February

Animation is being continued in which we are working on the animation scene even more.

The dead line is not far off so increasing pressure is becoming ever more present.

Monday, 14 February 2011

Start of Final Animation

Start of final animation, here is the first 2 seconds.

Beginning of Animation

Here is the beginning of our animation scene.

2 Seconds

We have created 2 seconds worth of animation.

24 Frames have been created by us for our animation in which the character form themselves (morph) and then turn around to then wolf whistle to pink which is to walk past.

4:30pm

The first second of the animation has been completed.

In this first part the two characters are formed and then grow in which they both blink at the same time.

Monday 13th Ferbuary

As it is Valentine's day we are spending a lot of time with our project and therefore we will be working on it for a good 6 hours today.

We can get plenty done and plenty achieved, not to mention plenty of frames.

Information

The latest green screen addition but this one was made by Adrian and Matthew, both of which have very little knowledge in Adobe After Effects.

Wednesday 9th February

An additional attempt will be made to create a sample animation using adobe after effects and therefore a green screen but this will be made by Adrian and Matthew.

Both of which using adobe after effects with green screen for the first time.

BLUE vs. RED - After Effects 101

Adobe After Effects can confuse the most competent PC users, it has a lot of complex features and a unique interface. Our animation is going to be edited using After Effects so it's important that all members of the team have at minimum a basic understanding of how AE works and how to make the most of the program.

Watching the video at the bottom of this page will give you a basic understanding of After Effects.

BLUE vs. RED - Second Green Screen Test

Spent our morning filming and editing a quick green screen test, here's the result.

Production Continued

Storyboard of the whole animation needed.

Additionally an appropiate image for the green screen background is a necessity.

Also, start on the animation itself is required because before we know it this project will come to an end.

BLUE vs. RED - Green Screen Test and more storyboards

We had a test for our green screen this afternoon, unfortunatly we didn't have our preferred material felt, so used paper which has a shine. It isn't perfect however we are going to continue doing some tests and will start our filming later in the week.

As promised I've uploaded some more storyboards from Adrian and Matt;

BLUE vs. RED - Storyboards, backgrounds and SFX

Storyboards

These are the storyboards that Josh has created , they give a good insight in how we expect the story to run, events that can happen during the fight scene and how the story will end;

Fight Ideas

BLUE evading an attack from RED

How the models could morph into their shapes

The first scene shows how RED initiats the fight

Clean and simple storyboard

I will update the blog with storyboards created by Matt, Chris and Adrian later in the week.

Backgrounds

We've taken into consideration the angle the background pictures have been taken, and will adjust the camera we use to capture our stop motion to match the angle the background picture has been taken. Some of these images are panoramic, we have some idea how we can incorporate panoramic images into the our animation.

SFX

We have sourced SFX files from sites on the internet. We will be using background soundtracks for the fight scene and aim to find a suitable soundtrack we can add for the first scene. As for voices for the characters they won't speak however we will record our own voices to create mumbling like sounds and wolf whistles for the first scene when BLUE and RED are looking at PINK.

Along with sound effects, we have special effects, a lot won't suit our animation however some of the more subtle ones may add more interest to our animation.

BLUE vs. RED - Videos

This was the video that was used in the BLUE vs. RED claymation pitch.

Earlier in the week we had a few tests of how the models could be animated.

Thursday 3rd February

Eveything on schedule.

Cernit clay to be bought so it arrives on a suitable day.

Green Screen planned out and we know what we need, how long going to take and how to complete it.

Slight detour today because of additional work to be completed elsewhere.

Wednesday, 2 February 2011

Wednesday 2nd February

Storyboards continued and as we have a slight bonus sessions more chance to get objectives completed.

Green Screen plan continued, thinking of getting green felt from Ebay in the attempt to get cheap material for the purpose.

Tuesday 1st Febuary

Today's objectives

  • Upload the videos we recorded yesterday to our youtube channel (I will do this)
  • Get the lights that we need for the set - http://www.mediacollege.com/video/special-effects/green-screen/lighting.html has good information on the lights we need (4-6lights, speak with Dean)
  • Put together a very simple storyboard of the fight scenes we talked about yesterday including the last scene.
Here's how we imagine our green screen to be lit.

Todays Objectives

BLUE vs. RED Objectives

We have sourced and purchased the clay we're going to use for the characters in BLUE vs. RED, we will do some tests with the clay later in the week. We will be using a clay called CERNIT.

  • Source the materials we need
  • Expand the storyline
  • Find background and texture files we are going to use in our set
  • If we have time after that we'll have a look at the basics of After Effects
